Copyright Licence

This licence allows our u3a to copy up to 5% or one chapter/article from eligible books, journals and magazines per licence year and per course or group. What is covered can be checked by entering an ISBN into the Check Permissions tool on the CLA website. Copies of materials cannot be shared outside of the group or on a public-facing website.

This licence is purchased each year by the Deepings u3a and is valid from 1 August to 31 July each year.

PPL PRS (Music Licence) and MPLC (Film Licence)

These allow u3as to play music and screen films respectively. The blanket licences are purchased by u3a HQ and automatically renew each year.

The PPL PRS renews on 1st January.

The MPLC renews on 1st July.

The licences have limitations and each u3a and u3a Interest Group should check that they cover what they want to cover.
